Queen Marys Day Nursery are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years SENDCo to join our team. This is a non room-based role, designed to support children and staff across all rooms as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early years education and a deep understanding of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide SEND support across all nursery rooms based on need
- Lead on early identification and assessment of children with additional needs
- Develop and implement individual support plans and EHCPs
- Work in partnership with parents, staff, and external professionals
- Model inclusive practice and advise on differentiation strategies
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS framework
- Deliver staff training and guidance around SEND best practices
- Keep up-to-date records and contribute to review meetings
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (minimum)
- SENDCo qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Proven experience working with children with SEND
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly across different age groups and teams
