SEN Teaching Assistant – Forest Gate – September Start – Full Time
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN TA to join our partnered leading primary school in Forest Gate. This is a full time, long term position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff.
This September, the school is looking for a dedicated SEN TA who has proven, hands-on experience supporting students with SEN, including Autism (ASD) and a range of learning disabilities. We can only consider applicants with genuine experience in this area, whether through professional work as a SEND TA or through substantial personal experience. This role will require working closely with students who have higher levels of need, supporting both 1:1 and in small groups within the school’s dedicated SEN provision.

Daily duties will include:
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism (ASD) and additional learning needs.
- Supporting small groups of SEN pupils within the SEN provision.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans.
- Implementing strategies to manage behavioural needs effectively.
- Supporting the development of pupils’ social skills and independence.
- Liaising with the SENCO and other staff to ensure consistent support.
- Preparing and adapting learning resources to meet the needs of pupils.
- Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage in learning activities.
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience as an SEN TA, either professionally or through personal experience.
- Experience working with Autism (ASD), learning disabilities, and behavioural needs.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff.
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.
- Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
