Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to project specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas, ensuring precise dimensions.
- Install various types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood.
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and repairing as necessary.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Read and interpret schematics and project plans to execute installations accurately.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the duration of projects.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to flooring installation.
- Experience in carpentry or related fields is advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand schematics for accurate flooring layout.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during installation.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks associated with floor laying.
