CB Flooring is a reputable flooring specialist company committed to delivering high-quality services to our clients. We have recently been awarded a significant council contract to undertake screeding and flooring installations within kitchens, bathrooms, and wetrooms across various residential properties. We are seeking skilled and dedicated Floor Layers to join our team and contribute to the successful execution of this project.
The Role:
We are looking for experienced and professional Floor Layers to carry out screeding preparation and the fitting of various flooring types within kitchens, bathrooms, and wetrooms of council properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all works are completed to a high standard, on schedule, and in accordance with relevant specifications and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate measurement and preparation of sub-floor surfaces.
Application of screed to achieve a smooth and level finish.
Installation of various flooring materials, which may include but are not limited to:
Vinyl (sheet, LVT, etc.)
Safety flooring
Ceramic/Porcelain tiles (if applicable to your contract)
Specialist installation of wetroom flooring, including effective cap and cove techniques to ensure watertight and compliant finishes.
Cutting, shaping, and fitting flooring materials precisely around fixtures and fittings.
Ensuring correct adhesives and techniques are used for each flooring type.
Adherence to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
Working efficiently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Communicating effectively with site managers and other trades.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a professional Floor Layer, with a strong portfolio of work in domestic settings, particularly kitchens, bathrooms, and wetrooms.
Demonstrable expertise in both screeding and the installation of various flooring types.
Proven competence in wetroom flooring installation, including precise cap and cove techniques.
Proficiency in sub-floor preparation, including damp proofing and levelling compounds.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
Reliable, punctual, well presented and highly organised.
Possession of relevant CSCS card (or equivalent).
Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport (essential due to travel between sites).
Desirable (but not essential):
Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Floor Laying.
Experience working on council or public sector contracts.
Knowledge of different screed types and their applications.
