Casual vacancy working mainly term time.
Location: Based at 100 Temple Street, Bristol and working at Bristol schools (and from home where appropriate).
An opportunity has arisen within the City Transport service to work in the Schools Active Travel Team which aims to increase walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling to and from school. This will increase physical activity, improve air quality and encourage healthy lifestyles in the city.
You will be working in both primary and secondary schools to deliver a variety of active travel themed sessions and assemblies across the city, currently as part of the Modeshift STARS scheme, as well as supporting the School Streets programme.
Most work will be school based in primary schools with children aged 4-11, during term time and within, before and after school hours. Sessions may be run in the classroom or outdoors in the wider school grounds.
You would be working closely with the School Active Travel Officers to deliver this work and the post would suit someone who’s passionate about sustainable modes of travel and who likes working with children.
We are looking for candidate that is ideally available to work set days each week during term times pending discussion around availability.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
