Job description
EPR-E is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate (TD) is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.
For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.
Within Technical Directorate, the Safety Team are responsible for the overall coordination of activities relating to the following technical topic areas: Safety Functional Requirements, Hazards, Fault Studies, PSA, Human Factors, Security, Structural Integrity, Environment, Decommissioning, Fire and Radiation Protection.
Within Safety Team, we are looking to recruit a Safety Project Manager who will cover, on a fixed term basis, the coordination of the contributions coming from the disciplines with regard to schedule, cost and quality securing the On Time Delivery (OTD), Right First Time (RTF) and applying the appropriate contractual arrangements.
The Role responsibilities will include:
· Overarching coordination of technical activities carried out by the Safety Discipline
Staff,
· Coordination of specification activities for the annual SZC Task Order for the whole
Safety scope and own the process for changes to the Task Order and NSA baseline
and liaise with Contract Management teams,
· Support the Safety Discipline Staff with any delivery related queries for the technical
deliverables/activities and ensure the weekly reporting on the OTD
· Update the relevant documents framing the organisation of the technical delivery on
the safety scope to time and quality as required (PSZC/Safety Disciplines Operating
Model, Design Quality Plan…),
· Carry out the monthly budget gap analysis for the safety scope to identify
gaps, liaise with the Discipline Team Leads and advise the Project on corrections
based on findings,
· Support interactions with the Client, and feed into the resolution of issues from the
Regulatory bodies (Nuclear and Environment) as required,
· Attendance to all relevant Kick off Meetings (KoM) and ensuring SZC Co
expectations are well understood, agreed and all the needed input data will be
available,
· Support the Safety manager with relevant inputs to feed various reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Profile
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
· Engineering degree or equivalent
· Project Management Experience in the nuclear sector
· The ability to take a strategic view with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels,
· Motivated and disciplined with an ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work across multiple workstreams,
· Take a proactive approach to management and resolution of contractual topics,
· Strong organisational and communication skills, able to liaise between multiple stakeholders and maintain a clear overview for specific topics,
· Fluent English.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
· Knowledge of the EPR design or other PWR designs
· Nuclear Safety knowledge
· French communication would be a bonus
