Description

The person appointed would be expected to:
- To support the Pastoral Director (Safeguarding) and Designated Safeguarding Lead in developing the College strategy for safeguarding in line with current and future legislation to assist in the development of provision
- To assist the Pastoral Director (Safeguarding) and Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring that College policies and procedures are fit for purpose, well communicated and embedded
- To support the development of assessment, support and guidance processes for vulnerable students to ensure that actions, follow ups and referrals take place, as appropriate
- To manage the daily administration of internal safeguarding concerns referred to the Safeguarding Team
- To manage the administration and communication of referrals made to external agencies
- To contribute to the student induction programme with regards to safeguarding policies and procedures as well as safeguarding trends
- To support the development and delivery of one to one and group information, advice and guidance activities and resources appropriate to all students and parents/carers
- To undertake and co-ordinate the duties under the guidance of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and the Designated Safeguarding Lead in college
- To work with the Pastoral Director (Safeguarding) and Designated Safeguarding Lead in reporting on safeguarding outcomes to Pastoral Team, Senior Leadership Team and Governors
- To ensure all safeguarding records both electronic and paper based are kept securely and only shared as appropriate
- To be a point of contact for external agencies, attend all safeguarding meetings and make referrals to external agencies as required
- Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Deputies and Pastoral Tutors with welfare and safeguarding referrals by offering support and guidance
- To work effectively with other colleagues across the college to ensure best safeguarding and welfare support and procedures for students: Student Support Team, College Counsellor, Attendance Officer, etc.
Salary & Contract Information
Point 12 to 14 - £28,408 to £30,119 per annum (actual payable £15,858.10 to £16,813.22 per annum) depending on experience
Established, part time 25 hours per week, term time only
Working hours Monday to Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm

With a diverse student body of over 2,000, the college offers a comprehensive range of academic and vocational qualifications, catering for A Level and BTEC students, GCSE Maths and English Language resits, and a Level 4 Art Foundation course in partnership with the University of the Arts, London.
