About the role
As the Retrofit Assessor your manager will be our Decarbonisation and Environment Manager. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area from our Head Office in Castleford.
As the Retrofit Assessor you will be responsible for leading on Retrofit Assessments and Energy Performance Certificate surveys across our properties and providing expert technical guidance. As a key member of the Homes and Sustainability team, you will support the development and delivery of energy-efficient capital investment programmes ensuring homes are energy efficient and meet business needs now and in the future.

What you’ll do
- Conduct Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and Retrofit Assessments (RAs) across the business stock, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant standards such as PAS 2035
- Identify, analyse and recommend energy efficiency improvements through property assessments, data analysis, and technical reporting
- Support the planning, development and delivery of energy and sustainability focused capital projects in line with strategic investment programmes
- Provide expert technical guidance to internal teams and external partners contributing to policy development, procurement processes and service improvement
- Monitor project performance and regulatory compliance, maintain accurate records, and support the evaluation of retrofit initiatives including customer feedback and outcomes
What we’re looking for
- A qualification at Level 4 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework, such as an HNC, Award, Certificate or Diploma in a relevant subject area plus a qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor
- Proven track record in a position in a property or energy services department with experience of undertaking domestic energy assessments and surveys
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and the ability to travel throughout the Vico Homes operating area as required on a daily basis
