Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Team Leader to oversee and support our team in providing exceptional care to older adults in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for elderly care, and the ability to effectively communicate with both staff, residents, families, and professionals. This role is essential in ensuring that care plans are implemented effectively and that the wellbeing of the residents is prioritised.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of residential staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
- Develop and implement individual care plans for each resident, tailored to their specific needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and external stakeholders to foster a supportive environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing guidance and support where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records related to care plans, incidents, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
- To oversee the running of the home in the absence of the registered manager.
- To ensure excellent communication between all the team, including the second team leader who will work alternate shifts to yourself.
- To ensure the home is compliant to H&S, IPC, FIRE, & CQC requirements, by competently carrying out audits, and addressing concerns.
- To ensure the registered manager is kept fully up to date.
- To be advice line alternate weekends for the service.
- To be visible on the floor and work alongside the staff team to promote good practices, and professionally address poor practice.
Experience
- Proven experience working within a residential or similar setting is essential.
- Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively within the team.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Previous experience in developing care plans is highly desirable.
- To have experience in the administration of medication, along with auditing.
Job Type: Part-time
