Lasting Threads Care opened in 2022 and currently has two homes. We are a family run organisation committed to making a difference to the lives of the Children we look after.
We are currently opening our third home and are looking for future leaders to join our journey and and ensure that our ethos and commitment to both children and staff is at the heart of our service.
We have a two week induction planned including face to face training and team building due to commence on 04th August 2025
Purpose of the post:
To ensure children living at the home receive high quality care and support throughout their placement. To Lead the Team ensuring the development, and supervision of staff to allow them to fulfil their duties. It is a requirement of the role that you are able understand and follow all Safeguarding responsibilities as well as maintaining the quality of the documentation and reporting within the home.
Responsibilities:
- To prioritise the Safety and wellbeing of children living at the home.
- To report any safeguarding or child protection concerns to the Registered Manager immediately.
- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of children.
- To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children can feel secure and be free from harm.
- Working in line with the 1989 Children’s Act, the 2004 Children’s Act, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and other relevant legislation.
- To ensure education is promoted and supported and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained.
- To identify any development requirements for individuals you are responsible for supervising and discuss these with the homes manager.
- To support in the induction of new staff to the home.
- Ensuring that each child’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs
- To review children’s records with the RSWs to ensure all relevant information is recorded and documents are completed to a high standard.
- Attend and participate in meetings and reviews as required.
- Being ambitious for children, helping them achieve their goals and optimise their potential
- Empowering children and facilitating their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Children and Young peoples qualification or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within residential childcare
- Strong knowledge of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and staff members
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and statutory guidance
