Job Description:
Are you passionate about helping vulnerable children? We are looking for a Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at a Children’s Residential Home in Swadlincote, DE11. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in providing care, support, and guidance to children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment.
You’ll be responsible for delivering day-to-day care and ensuring the emotional, physical, and social development of the children you support. This is a fulfilling, full-time role with an annual salary of £29,000 to £31,000, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in the residential home.
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, schoolwork, activities, and bedtime.
- Support children with emotional and behavioural challenges, offering guidance and encouragement.
- Ensure that safeguarding and welfare requirements are met at all times.
- Create and maintain individual care plans and work collaboratively with other professionals.
- Record and report on children’s progress, ensuring accurate documentation is maintained.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or in a residential care setting is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and support children with a range of needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and some bank holidays.
