Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior actuarial candidate to learn and be part of an established and training-focussed reserving team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Reserving and will assist in all aspects of reserving work, including data procurement, projections and reporting. Study support will be provided to a successful candidate who wishes to pursue the actuarial exams. We also welcome applications from candidates who have chosen not to sit the actuarial exams. We welcome applications both from candidates with no actuarial industry experience, and junior candidates with some actuarial experience in either the insurance or pensions industries.Specific Responsibilities
- Extraction and reconciliation of data for use in UK GAAP, Lloyd's, Solvency II/Solvency UK and US Trust Fund reserving
- Updating spreadsheets and other processes used by the reserving team
- Running of processes to assist in the production of regulatory returns
- Assistance in provision of data to external parties such as auditors
- Assistance in production of reserving projections and reporting packs
- Other general assistance in all aspects of the reserving process as required
Essential Skills & Requirements
Essential- Minimum of a second class degree in a mathematical or science based subject as well as good ‘A’ Levels (or equivalent) including at least one mathematical subject
- Good IT skills, in particular MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Some knowledge of SQL and/or Power BI
