Recycling Operative

Axil is a leading waste management company who specialise in recycling and total customer waste management. Axil requires a Recycling Operative to work on one of our high-profile customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily pre use inspections to be carried out on all machinery and vehicles.
• Exchanging bins around site when full/as required.
• Full bins to be returned to the Axil waste compound, sorted, and processed.
• Operate safely ensuring our H&S policies / procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems are always adhered to.
• Always maintain a high standard and well organised waste compound.
• Communication, daily with the customer, contract manager, and line manager.
• Regular checks on waste levels of containers around site booking exchanges as required.
• Ensure all waste streams are segregated and stored correctly after processing in accordance with site and Axil health & safety policies, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and any relevant policies and procedures.
• Undertake training provided to assist you in your role.
• Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employee.
• Provide solutions, continuous improvements, and innovations.
• All near misses, incidents, and accidents are to be reported via our incident reporting app.
• Collecting and processing hazardous waste around site.

Essential Experience

• FLT licence and towing experience is beneficial
• Some experience or knowledge on waste management processes is beneficial
• This role is very hands on, you will be supporting the customers with waste segregation.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday, 2.30pm - 10:30pm

Pay

£13.55 per hour
