Duties and responsibilities
- To deliver high standards of learning , development and care both indoors and outdoors for children aged 0 - 5 years.
- To work alongside parents/carers and other professionals to maintain high standards of care and education within nursery.
- To use knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) and every child matters frameworks to plan and implement learning activities to increase development knowledge.
- To liaise with members of the senior management team to continue to improve practices with in nursery.
- You will be required to obtain a DBS check.
- To attend out of working hours activities e.g Staff meetings, parents evenings, training courses and summer/Christmas fairs etc.
- To be flexible within working practices of nursery, and be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery. E.g preparation of snack, cleaning or equipment etc.
- To look upon the nursery as a “Whole” where your help can be most utilised, and be constantly aware of the needs of children.
- To record accidents, incidents and necessary documentation on the desired nursery record forms.
- To respect confidentiality of information received at all times. To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing, to wash and change children correctly as required, to provide comfort and warmth to a poorly child.
- To comply with all Little Angels Nursery policies and procedures and undertake duties in accordance with them.
- To attend any specified training as identified by the manager.
- To record and follow correct procedures for any concerns raised regarding child protection issues.
- To ensure health and safety standards are met at all times and contribute to the monitoring and recording of daily health and safety checks.

Qualifications
Completion of a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification Eg, Level 3 certificate for the children & young people’s workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Children’s care, learning and development.
- Some understanding of health and safety and food hygiene in the work place ( We can provide)
- First aid certificate (We can provide)
- Safeguarding children (We will provide)
- Completion of other relevant courses.
