We now have an excellent opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our central Finance Team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate running of our purchase ledger, supporting our services and wider business operations
Purchase Ledger:
- Manage the full purchase ledger process across multiple entities (a full time purchase ledger team member is also already a part of the team)
- Process high volumes of invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain supplier records and manage onboarding of new suppliers
- Resolve invoice queries and discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
- Prepare and process weekly and ad-hoc BACS payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and support month-end close
- Ensure VAT is correctly coded and reported
- Maintain clear and organised records in line with audit requirements
About You:
This role would suit someone who is self-sufficient, well organised, and takes real ownership of their area of responsibility. You’ll need to be confident working at pace, handling both routine and ad hoc tasks, and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in purchase ledger, or a wider finance role
- Strong understanding of cash flow and working capital management
- Experience managing supplier payments and resolving transactional queries
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent Excel skills and experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage 50)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines consistently
Desirable:
- Previous experience in health and social care or a multi-site organisation
- Familiarity with digital care systems and/or integrated finance platforms
- AAT qualified or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
