Long Rake Spar are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the team as maternity cover at our Head Offices in Youlgrave, Derbyshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for finance and a desire to contribute to the Company’s continued success.
The role:
Reporting to the Group Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: - Efficiently process and code supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Payment Processing: - Prepare and process payment runs, reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
- Supplier Relations: - Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding invoice and payment enquiries.
- Data Entry: - Accurately input financial data into the accounting system, maintaining up-to-date and organised records.
- Month-End Activities: - Assist in month-end processes and provide support to the Group Accountant where necessary.
- Expense Management: - Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Ad-Hoc Duties: - Undertake additional tasks and projects as required to support the overall financial function of the company.
The Person:
We’re looking for a committed, trustworthy team player who is motivated by working in a pressured environment. You should have:
· Previous experience with high-volume processing purchase ledger role.
· A relevant qualification in finance or accounting.
· Strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Be IT literate with a working understanding of Excel (including Pivot Tables and V Look Ups)
· Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Be able to learn quickly and be flexible in your approach to work.
