Your reason for being here…
Our digital team are looking for an experienced Product Owner to shape some of our most prolific projects and to help steer the future of Product delivery within our team.
The way you roll…
You’re a Product superstar, equally adept at capturing requirements as prioritising your backlog. You are able to see the big picture, managing the product roadmap and ensuring that stakeholder wishes are effectively balanced with commercial realities. With a creative vision and meticulous attention to detail, you’ll have no problem acting on our ‘anything’s possible’ philosophy here at DRPG.
The right person will blend in with our friendly and collaborative company culture and, rest assured, we all share tea and coffee making duties!
How you make it all possible…
- Pro-actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse needs and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI, aligning the product roadmap to strategic goals.
- Own the product road-map and identify and act upon growth opportunities.
- Develop scope and define backlog items (including writing epics/features/user stories/acceptance criteria) that guide the Agile software development team.
- Assess value, develop cases, plan and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
- Serve as the voice of the client, providing vision and direction to the team and stakeholders throughout the project.
- Control product scope and effectively manage and document change requirements.
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- Set sprint goals and plan releases, iterations and upgrades.
- Provide a data driven approach - reporting on key product metrics and understanding and managing team velocities.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
- Represents team in front of stakeholders, clients or users.
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends and help to refine our use of agile methodology based on results and client feedback.
- Bring extensive client and stakeholder management experience (agency experience would be a bonus) to ensure relationships are maintained and developed.
- Bring an inquisitive mindset around the product and the technology landscape, helping to identify opportunities to leverage new ideas and technological solutions to the benefit of the product and the business.
What’s in your toolbox…
- 3+ years proven experience as owner of complex digital product(s) in an Agile environment, ideally within an agency.
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to use a range of tools to prioritise features and value effectively.
- A creative thinker with a clear vision for how a digital product should manifest.
- A strategic thinker, able to see the big picture and cut through stakeholder noise in order to make the best decisions for all users of the product.
- Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
- Proficiency in the use of analytic tools to track user value and team velocity.
- Practical experience employing Agile (Scrum, Kanban and ‘Scrumban’) project management techniques.
- The ability to lead and get the best out of your team.
- You have exceptional organisational skills and can prioritise your workload.
- Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle.
- Detailed knowledge of a workflow management tool. We use JIRA but experience of other tools (Azure DevOps, Trello etc) will be considered.
