How will your role contribute at NewDay?
Think of this as the step forward in your Product career at NewDay, reporting to the Head Of Digital Product, also under the keen eye of our Exco and actively collaborating with other Product Owners influencing several teams to achieve the same goal. You will craft the future of NewDay’s Personal Loans Product, bringing in new functionality and business value. By taking the vision and goals of both Credit and Platform, you’ll give our teams the clarity to develop, adapt and innovate at speed, while maintaining our high standard of quality and agile practice.
You’ll educate, advise, and inspire the wider Digital team directly through contributions such as – but not limited to – presenting to senior colleagues on technical topics and demonstrating the strong leadership skills that are required for this role.
This unique role will provide an amazing opportunity to build great visibility with some very senior stakeholders across the organisation and deliver something in a strategic way that benefits the business for years to come.
What you will be doing day-to-day
- Creating and leading a vision for a flexing product delivery team and driving this forward
- Shaping, owning and building out new capabilities for the Platform
- Maintaining and improving current capabilities
- Supervising overall performance of existing and new capabilities against goals and celebrating achievements
- Crafting, owning, and updating roadmaps
- Reporting progress against plans to senior leadership
- Defining requirements to bolster the reliability and efficiency of your product
- Driving agile practices and embedding processes within your team whilst maintaining morale and dedication
- Working with our Engineering and Product community to champion a culture of learning, growth and innovation in an agile framework
Your Skills and Experience
Essential
- Driving the full product delivery life cycle through your team from the gathering of requirements through design and development, to deployment & support
- Working with others to produce and maintain product roadmaps and communicate progress, risks and issues
- Analysing problems and business needs and writing user stories and supporting requirements that meet the teams’ Definition of Ready
- Maintaining a healthy product backlog, to ensure work is well formed, refined, estimated & prioritised for the development teams
- Influencing partners to ensure initiatives in their domains are delivered to high quality, on time and within budgets
- Helping to define non-functional requirements around resiliency and performance
Desirable
- Experience in a fast-growing FinTech business
- Recognised agile qualifications
- Experience in contributing to the Development/Product community (either within a company or publicly).
- Experience with App Insights
- Experience of working with regulatory-compliant products
