JOB TITLE: Temporary Private Medical Administrator specialising in Private Medical Work and SARS.
Hours: Part Time 10 hours per week
6 months fixed term contract.
We are looking for this role to start as soon as reasonably possible.
Practice Structure
The Chislehurst Partnership is a friendly high achieving suburban partnership in the London Borough of Bromley with a countryside feel. Currently operating as a dual site practice (The Chislehurst Medical Practice & The Woodlands Practice) there are 9 partners, with 7 salaried doctors and full complement of nurses including ANP and HCA.
The successful candidates will be expected to work across the two sites.
Job Summary
This role is to support the practice by delivering an efficient, caring and respectful service to our patients. We require our secretary to provide a friendly and helpful primary care service on behalf of the practice. The core duties are listed below all of which are to be completed with a professional and courteous manner whilst ensuring strict confidentiality of our patient’s records.
Responsibilities of the post -
- To provide an efficient service for GPs and the practice managers and other health professionals as required
- To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries
- Carry out administrative work for the private medicals team, to retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurance records subject access requests and medical forms
- To invoice and record payments for insurance/solicitor requests.
- Provide holiday/sickness cover for your colleagues as agreed
- Maintain good communication with all members of the practice
- Work within organisation policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Participate in in-house or external course training as and when necessary and appropriate
- An awareness of other staff’s responsibilities and showing a willingness to help
- Liaise with the relevant manager regarding any practice issues, problems or areas of concern

- Knowledge of medical terminology would be desirable but not essential
