PLAYWORKERS – PERMANENT CONTRACTS
Ecclesall Kids Club has a vacancy's for enthusiastic and friendly Play workers, whilst our preference is for qualified and experienced candidates, we will consider candidates without qualifications who can demonstrate relevant childcare experience.
For qualified posts, as well as Play worker qualifications we welcome applications from candidates with qualifications in nursery nursing, Teaching Assistants and Health and Social care. Candidates without qualifications but who have relevant experience will be offered training and development opportunities
The post will be based at our club at Ecclesall Primary School, High Storrs Rd, Sheffield, S117LG
The ideal shift patterns that would accommodate the needs of the business at present would be:
- 4 Days Breakfast club & Afterschool club working Monday - Thursday
- 2 days Breakfast club & Afterschool Club Wednesday & Thursday
Working Hours:
The club is open 5 days per week Monday – Friday term time. The operating hours are:
Breakfast hours opening 7.30am – 9:00am (Monday – Friday)
Afterschool hours 2.45pm – 6:00pm (Monday - Friday)
We also offer occasional half or full days non term time holiday club work (between 7.30am - 5.45pm) if the candidate wishes to undertake this. If candidates have children who are already attending school (age 4-11) they are able to bring their children to work with them in holiday club when they are working, free of charge.
Role & Responsibilities:
Be part of a great team who loves working with children and making our club fun and safe for our children aged 4 - 11
- Assist the team to prepare and provide creative and fun play opportunities
- Support the team to ensure that refreshments are provided and meet the required standards of nutrition, hygiene, health and safety.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are observed.
- Work in line with other agreed policies and procedures.
- Contribute to carrying out basic administration procedures.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
- Respect our diverse working environment and carry out all responsibilities and activities within our equal opportunities framework.
- As we are an Early Years setting all candidates must have sufficient understanding and use of the English language to undertake the role to enable us to meet the requirements of the Statutory Early Years framework (2021).

Skills and Attributes:
You’ll need to be a reliable attender, enthusiastic, and a good role model for the children you will care for, we have a mixture of craft, games, IT, and outdoor activities so you’ll need to be flexible in approach
