Breakfast Club: 07:15 - 09:00, Monday to Friday. Term Time only.
Our Playworkers organise, plan and take part in play and leisure activities for children, before school. Our Playworkers care and supervise the children, making sure they are safe and happy.
Playworker Job Duties:
- Setting up the club to create a safe and secure play environment ready for when children arrive
- Meeting and greeting children and their families
- Supervise children effectively to ensure they are safe
- Support a variety of play opportunities for children aged 4 – 11 years
- Participate in children’s play as and when requested by the children.
- Plan and deliver a range of exciting activities based on the children’s interests.
- Encourage children to participation in new activities to expand their interests
- Celebrate diversity and promote inclusive practice
- Commitment to safeguarding the children in our care
Skills/Qualifications:
- Caring and sensitive to children’s individual needs
- Active and energetic. Prepared to get involved in children’s play.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Playwork Principles
- Good communication skills
- Team player and ability to use initiative
- Basic IT skills
- 2 GSCEs grades 9 – 4 (A* - C) or equivalent
- Applicants must be aged 17 years or older to be included in ratios
Desirable skills/qualifications
- Previous childcare and/or Playwork experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Playwork/Childcare
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3
- Basic safeguarding training
- Current and valid driving licence

- Full and comprehensive induction

Hours & Pay
- Starting rate from £12.25.
- Split shift: 07:15 – 09:00 from Monday – Friday in term time.
- 8.75 hours per week
