Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipelayer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of pipelines, ensuring that they are laid accurately and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of construction principles, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience in pipeline installation and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Lay pipes for water, sewage, and drainage systems according to specifications.
- Excavate trenches using hand tools or machinery, ensuring proper depth and alignment.
- Connect pipes using appropriate fittings and ensure all joints are watertight.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to verify compliance with regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other construction workers to ensure smooth workflow on-site.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols to minimise risks and hazards during work activities.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pipelayer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of pipeline installation techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to construction sites.

We are looking for hands-on, experienced pipe layers (concrete and clay pipe systems) to join our team on a large project in Aldermaston, Reading.
Working hours
Monday - Friday 7:30-17:30 9.5 h CIS paid
All applicants MUST have the following:
- CSCS Card
- Valid Right to Work in the UK
- Checkable work references
- CIS registered
- Valid DBS check
Please note that due to the nature of the project, all successful candidates will be subjected to BPSS checks. Note, it may take up to 4 weeks for the checks to be completed. Therefore, the start date may vary.
