Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant that is able to create and run online stores as well as help out in the shop when deliveries arrive. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience for our customers through effective merchandising, organisation, and support in store and online.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
- Maintain an organised and visually appealing shop environment through effective merchandising techniques in store and online.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide information about products and services.
- Process transactions accurately while ensuring a high standard of phone etiquette.
- Upsell products where appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Upload products online and pack up orders ready for postage.
- Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient shop operations.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational skills to maintain an orderly shop environment.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience of managing online stores is an advantage.
