An exciting opportunity has arisen assisting a young 20-year-old male with physical deficits, who has an adventure for life, in the Ragdale area of Melton, Leicestershire. In return, we offer a highly competitive hourly rate and ongoing training.
The required assistant will be responsible for providing quality support to the service user. The role includes accessing social and leisure activities and ensuring the client is safe within his own home whilst promoting his independence. Training in specific duties will be provided. The role will involve some domestic work.
It is essential that the successful applicant holds a full driving licence and it is desirable that you have the following skills and experience:
- Have a high level of initiative
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
- Experience of working with young adults with complex health needs
- Sound understanding of good care principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer competency
- Experience of gastrostomy feeding
- Interest in gaming/technology
- Flexibility
You will be required to work approximately 40 hours per week with a varied shift pattern: Shifts can be 8 or 12 hours in length depending on the client’s needs.
You will be required to work evenings to assist the client to access social activities and to support him when attending his college setting 1 day per week during term time. You will not be required to work on Thursdays.
Applicants must be flexible to suit the client’s needs and able to work to cover sickness and annual leave.
The hourly rate: £17.00 per hour.
