We’re looking for a practical, trustworthy person to help look after our home in Oxford for the long term. Someone who’s good with tools, happy to tackle small repairs, and organised enough to spot what needs doing before we do.
About the Role
This is a flexible, ongoing position (just a few hours each week) for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on work and problem-solving. You’ll handle smaller jobs yourself, and when a bigger job comes up, you’ll be the one to find, book, and manage reliable tradespeople at a fair price.
Examples of the kind of work you might do:
Fixing small electrical or carpentry issues
Organising repairs (e.g., sauna roof tear)
Garden work: clearing debris, pruning, and creating paths
Small builds: decking, shelving, or storage
Helping source a new cleaner
Seasonal upkeep, such as sanding and oiling kitchen counters
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Are hands-on and capable with general repairs and garden work
Have a good eye for spotting maintenance issues early
Are organised, proactive, and reliable
Either know good local tradespeople or are happy to research and book them
Enjoy the satisfaction of keeping a place running smoothly
This is a role we hope to keep for years, so reliability and a good working relationship are key.
