The Old Deanery in Ripon is a fine dining “restaurant with rooms” with award winning chef, Adam Jackson since November 2023. We are proud to have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes in September 2024 and we are MICHELIN recommended since January 2025.
We are seeking a part time housekeeper / cleaner to help our existing housekeeper clean our 11 bedrooms to a high standard, retaining and exceeding our 4 AA silver star hotel rating.
The Old Deanery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Open from lunchtime on Wednesdays for drinks and overnight stays. Lunch, afternoon tea, and our signature evening tasting menu is served Thursday to Saturday, and we serve a fantastic (busy) Sunday lunch on Sundays.
The hours for the part time housekeeper / cleaner will be around 10-12 hours per week, working from Thursday – Saturday. The hours are roughly 10am – 2pm, but there is a degree of flexibility in this, as long as all rooms are serviced by our check-in time of 3pm.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the existing housekeeper, or house manager, with any duties asked of you relating to housekeeping and cleaning.
- Stripping dirty rooms of linen, dirty crockery, emptying bins etc
- Thorough cleaning of the bedrooms and bathrooms, including safe use of chemicals
- Making beds
- Resetting the room with amenities such as toiletries, tea and coffee etc
- Cleaning public areas around the hotel and restaurant
The rate of pay is £12.30 per hour (or £10 per hour if you are under 20), and you will also earn service charge on top of this which usually equals around £1 or more on top of the basic hourly rate.
Previous experience of housekeeping for a hotel is preferred.
