Vacancy: Part-Time Funeral Operative
Location: G. McAllister Funeral Directors, 155–159 Station Road, Shotts, ML7 4BQ
We are looking for a caring and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Funeral Operative. This role is for 16 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime and an out-of-hours on call.
About the Role:
This is a varied and rewarding position, supporting families and the wider team in providing a professional and respectful service. Duties include:
- Transferring those who have died into our care from various locations
- Preparing funeral vehicles to the highest standards
- Workshop duties, including preparing coffins and caskets for services
- Assisting at funerals, including driving duties
- Delivering and collecting important documentation
- Working alongside the Funeral Director to ensure every detail is handled with care and professionalism
About You:
Live within a reasonable distance of North/South Lanarkshire (for on-call duties)
- Well-presented, courteous, and compassionate
- Able to communicate clearly and work as part of a team
- Previous experience is welcome but not essential — full training will be provided
- Hold a clean, current UK driving licence
