About Us:
Jennifer Ashe & Son Funeral Directors is a well-respected, independent family-owned funeral company, known for delivering exceptional care, dignity, and professionalism to the families we serve. With branches across the West Midlands and Staffordshire, we uphold traditional values whilst offering a modern, supportive approach to funeral arranging.
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and professional Personal Funeral Advisor to join our team on a part-time basis at our Brownhills branch. This is a front-facing, client-focused role involving direct contact with bereaved families, helping them make funeral arrangements and offering support throughout the process.
You will be responsible for guiding clients through every step of the funeral planning journey with empathy, attention to detail, and care. From the initial call to the day of the funeral, your role will be to ensure every aspect is handled professionally, respectfully, and in line with the family’s wishes.
While your primary base will be Brownhills, flexibility is required to occasionally support other branches within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting with families to arrange funerals in person, by phone, or via email
- Providing guidance on options such as burials, cremations, religious/non-religious services, coffins, and transport
- Managing documentation, liaising with crematoria, clergy/celebrants, doctors, and registrars
- Keeping families updated and informed at each stage of the process
- Assisting with chapel visits and general branch administration
- Ensuring all services are delivered in line with company standards and values
- Supporting wider business activities where needed (e.g., community engagement, open days)
Person Specification:
- Compassionate and professional with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Emotionally resilient and able to support grieving families
- Previous experience in a funeral or bereavement-related role is an advantage but not essential
- Confident using IT systems and managing paperwork
- Willing to work flexibly and travel to other branches when required
- Smart, professional appearance

- A supportive and respectful working environment
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- The chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives
