Overview
We are an established engineering/remanufacturing business seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is office-based and offers flexibility for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires proficiency in Xero accounting software. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing purchase ledger: entering supplier invoices and scheduling payments
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Running payroll
- Handling bank reconciliations
- Month-end and year-end tasks
- Preparing management accounts
- Supporting the directors and external accountant as needed
- Customs assistance with Imports / Exports
- Assistance with the annual insurance renewal
- Directors tax returns
What We’re Looking For
- Proven bookkeeping experience, AAT Level 3 or above
- Proficiency with Xero accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
- Professional, trustworthy, and approachable
- In no way essential, as training will be offered, but experience with the Syspro ERP AR/AP/GL software modules, would be advantageous
