About Us:
We are a well-established, family-run food wholesale business supplying a wide range of fresh, ambient, and frozen products to cafés, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, hospitals, garden centres, and more. Operating for over 28 years, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service, a friendly working environment, and a strong team spirit.
The Role:
We are looking for a reliable, organised, and friendly individual to join our small office team. This is a key customer-facing role, acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls and emails, supporting customers with orders, queries, and account management. The role is predominantly office-based but may occasionally involve helping in the warehouse or supporting local deliveries during busy periods or staff shortages.
Key Responsibilities:
Answering incoming calls and handling first-line customer queries
Taking and processing customer orders accurately
Setting up new customer accounts and granting access to our online ordering system
Working closely with the sales team to onboard new customers
Producing daily picking lists for the warehouse team
Organising and sorting delivery runs for drivers
Carrying out basic daily office tasks and maintaining a clean, tidy office/kitchen environment
Assisting with the business’s social media presence (basic posting and updates)
Completing daily checks and documentation to ensure compliance with ISO 22000 food safety standards
Additional (Occasional) Responsibilities:
Occasionally assisting in the warehouse (e.g. picking stock or helping organise orders) when short-staffed or during busy periods
Helping cover delivery runs only if you hold a valid UK driving licence – this is not essential to the role, and would only apply if you're licensed.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in an office or customer service role is preferred
Basic computer skills and confidence learning new systems (full training provided)
Excellent communication and telephone manner
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
A team player willing to get involved and help out where needed
Positive attitude and ability to work in a small, close-knit team environment
Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Why Join Us?
Be part of a long-standing, family-run business with a supportive team
Varied role with a good balance of routine and occasional hands-on tasks
Full training and ongoing support provided
Opportunity to take on responsibilities
