Job Summary
The Nursery Room Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursery room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role requires strong management and leadership skills to guide a team of childcare professionals while fostering positive relationships with children and their families. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the development and well-being of young children.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance and support to staff members.
- Create and implement engaging educational activities that promote children's development in line with early years frameworks.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and any incidents that occur within the nursery.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive approach to childcare and education.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a childcare setting.
- Strong background in early childhood education or related field, with relevant qualifications preferred.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar environment is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to drive may be advantageous for transporting children or attending off-site activities.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 41.25 per week
