Nursery Assistant
Permanent | 40 hours per week | Monday – Friday
The nursery is situated in the heart of Kegworth in a converted barn, we have access to two acres of land where the children can explore the outdoors. We place a huge emphasis on both the indoor and outdoor learning environment, we have our own Forest School which offers sessions to our children daily. Our objective at Handkerchief is to give your child as much encouragement and support as you do. Each child is helped to reach their full potential through praise, sensitivity and mutual respect.
We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to join our growing team and provide the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with management, colleagues and parents
Responsibilities:
- The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
- Working with the Early Years Practitioners on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs, liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times.
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Assist with the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Take part in delivering the highest standards of care throughout the nursery
