The University’s Heritage Collections are excited to be seeking a new member of the Civic Engagement team, to assist co-design and delivery of a new Prescribe Culture project, Notable Difference. Supported by Museums Galleries Scotland and Baring Foundation’s Creative Minds funding, the Notable Difference project will focus on development of a non-clinical support programme for men’s mental health.
The Notable Difference Enabler post is part-time (0.2) for 16 months and we wish to appoint someone with a passion for creative health work, who has experience of facilitating music-making programmes co-designed with individuals who are living with mental health disorders or facing mental health challenges.

What the job involves:
- Play a key role in supporting us, over the next eighteen months, to co-develop and deliver our new Prescribe Culture project, Notable Difference, supported by a Museums Galleries Scotland and the Baring Foundation Creative Minds fund.
- Working with the Notable Difference members, utilising the stories of St Cecilia’s Hall and the musical instrument collection, to realise a creative health programme for the benefit of men’s mental health.
- Co-producing project outputs such as live music events, online exhibitions and recorded music.

A bit about you:
- Knowledge of common mental health disorders and experience of working with individuals living with mental health disorders or challenges.
- Skilled musician and experience of facilitating music-making group sessions.
- A belief in the power of non-clinical approaches to address social determinants of ill-health.
