Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Non-Emergency Ambulance Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from their medical appointments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive timely care while providing high levels of comfort and support during their journey. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Transport:
- Safely transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and dialysis centers.
- Assist patients in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Use appropriate equipment, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, to facilitate patient movement.
- Patient Care:
- Provide basic assistance to patients, including all aspects of Manual Handling.
- Monitor patients during transport, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:
- Conduct daily checks on the ambulance to ensure it is clean, stocked, and in good working condition.
- Report any vehicle defects or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and drive responsibly.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities, including pick-up and drop-off times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
- Report any changes in the patient’s condition to medical staff promptly.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other ambulance support workers and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure a high standard of care.
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record of atleast 2 years
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including manual handling.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.

You would need to be available to attend an in person training course from 8th -18th September - you would be paid to attend this
You will also need am enhanced adult and child DBS certificate with physical copy to bring with you to training and this must be on the update service
