Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice and enhancing the patient experience.
Hours
Wednesday 8am-6pm
Thursday 12pm-6pm
Friday 8am-2pm
Total - 21 hours per week
This job is fast paced and requires a degree of computer skill to use the various programmes used in the practice.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations effectively.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Process patient information and insurance details accurately.
- Handle payment inquiries and assist with payment processing as required.
- Support medical staff by preparing necessary documentation for patient visits.
- Keep the reception area tidy and organised, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
Experience
- Previous experience in an office or administrative role is preferred, particularly within a healthcare setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using office software and EMIS Web is advantageous.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
