Job Overview
As a South African company producing Biltong as it's main product, we are seeking a competent Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will receive full training but must possess a desire to want to learn and be prepared to work to the highest standards.
As a Meat Cutter, you will play a vital role in providing our customers with fresh, expertly prepared meat products while maintaining an organised and efficient workspace.
Responsibilities
- Cut Biltong and Snap Sticks in accordance to our company procedures
- Prepare marinades and marinate meat once cut
- Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and good organisation of the cutting area, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with the production of Boerewors and Droewors
- Assist with receiving meat deliveries ensuring that the correct items/weights have arrived and storing them correctly
- Be willing to enhance the roll by liaising with customers to get an understanding of current trends and to expand current lines
- Become involved in the packing of products and assisting with serving customers within our shops as required
Requirements
- A South African connection and knowledge of our products is an advantage but not essential
- Be competent with a knife
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21-£16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 per week
