Job Title: Mealtime Nursery Assistant / Kitchen Assistant
Hours: 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (25 hours per week)
About the Role:
We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dependableMealtime Nursery Assistant /Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate team!
In this dual role, you’ll support children under the age of 5 during the busy lunchtime period—helping to make mealtimes enjoyable, safe, and engaging. You'll assist in preparing and serving meals, offer hands-on help to children as they eat, and spend time supporting their development through play and care activities. You'll also be required to have an understanding of the EYFS, which will support you within this job role.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll also be responsible for preparing and distributing teas to the nursery rooms and keeping the kitchen area clean and organised by completing daily domestic duties.
What You’ll Be Doing:
✅ Supporting and supervising children during lunch, ensuring a positive and hygienic experience
✅ Preparing, serving, and clearing away meals and snacks in line with food safety standards
✅ Helping children with feeding, handwashing and other care routines
✅ Assisting with fun and age-appropriate activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
✅ Maintaining a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for children and staff
✅ Carrying out kitchen duties, including preparing teas and keeping the kitchen tidy
✅ Following all health, safety and safeguarding policies
