The Moorings Retirement Home is home to 39 people and employs a full staff providing care 24 hours a day. Our people are living in the home for different reasons and some with dementia.
The home is a large Victorian building with a more recent extension.
A vacancy has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintenance tasks and will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained for the safety of our people and staff. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission .
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Conduct Fire system checks and perform regular practice fire drills.
- Be aware the premises have to maintained to regulation standards by CQC ( Care Quality Commission) and be willing to uphold those standards.
- Perform or arrange repairs to equipment and elements of the premises.
- Painting and resurfacing areas as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any maintenance-related concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Organise and prioritise the workload.
Experience
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- A logical approach to problem-solving.
- A general interest in maintenance systems .
We will be able to provide training in fire safety and other topics.
