PRIMARY ROLE
The Machine Setter will be a major contributor to the overall success and direction of the company and in determining its future. This will be achieved by working together, in the best interests of the company, . The Machine Setter’s focus will be the setting of a number High Speed Presses, and manufacturing parts, to ensure customer needs are met.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Set CNC coiling machines and associated equipment, with the objective of continuously improving to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Collect and return materials (if training allows) required for manufacture from Stores areas, ensuring all material bookings are completed as required, and housekeeping levels maintained in associated areas.
- The maintenance and housekeeping of machinery, tooling and equipment and surrounding/associated areas, including the requesting of maintenance work on tools/equipment.
- Complete first off/last off inspection reports and other quality documents, as required.
- Ensure that all necessary inspection equipment is utilised and returned to storage if appropriate after use.
- Complete production/manufacturing documentation, work records, reporting of quantities and set/run times on the appropriate IT system (where training allows) as required and directed. Advice management of any variations to process/output identified.
- Practice and actively promote; team working / collaboration with own / other departments – minimising disruption, and maximising opportunities, gaining insight from, and utilising the skills of, the wider workforce.
- Work closely with colleagues from other departments in the try-out, development and production of new tools/products, and then ensuring targets for; quality, efficiency and on time delivery, are met or exceeded, and satisfy internal and external demands.
- Be aware of, and work actively towards, indicated Departmental Targets, ensuring that your own actions contribute actively to the improvement of departmental performance.
- Take responsibility for your own actions, ensuring that barriers to success are removed, by yourself if possible, or advised to others if beyond your control.
Additional Responsibilities
- To ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance of the appropriate legislation and to carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks, as instructed by the Production Manager or the Senior Management Team.

Qualifications/Skills
· Forklift Truck Licence an advantage
· Gantry Crane Licence an advantage
· Electric Pallet Truck Licence an advantage
· Engineering knowledge an advantage

Pay: £14.10-£16.00 per hour
