We are seeking a Part-Time Live-In Carer (Female) for a female client in St Kew, Bodmin, Cornwall. This role involves providing compassionate, one-on-one support to a client who lives alone and needs assistance with daily activities. About the Client
- Living Situation: The client is a female senior who lives alone with her cat in a comfortable home.
- Mobility: She uses a Zimmer frame (walking frame) for mobility around the house.
- Care Needs: Assistance is primarily needed with personal care (such as bathing, dressing, toileting) and daily living tasks.
- Companionship: The client values companionship; a friendly and patient carer who also likes cats will be ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist the client with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming while respecting her dignity.
- Mobility Support: Help the client move safely around her home using her Zimmer frame, ensuring she remains steady and confident.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care (tidying, laundry, preparing simple meals as needed).
- Medication Reminders: Ensure the client takes her medications on time.
- Companionship: Provide friendly conversation, emotional support, and be attentive to the client's needs.
Work Schedule & Benefits
- Working Hours: Live-in position with a 2-hour break per day (14 hours total break time per week). Outside of break times, you are expected to be available to assist as needed.
- Salary: £1,000 per week salary.
- Food Allowance: £50 per week provided for food expenses.
- Accommodation: You will have your own room in the client's home.
- Time Off: 2 hours off each day, allowing personal time for rest or errands.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of proven live-in care experience. Experience with elderly or mobility-impaired clients is highly preferred.
- Right to Work: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Note: Sponsorship or visa support is NOT available for this position.
- Language: Good communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and be understood by the client.
- Compassion & Reliability: A caring, patient, and reliable nature is essential. You should be someone who respects the client’s privacy and can build trust.
- Other Requirements: Female applicants only (due to the personal care needs of the client). Must be comfortable around cats (the client has a pet cat).
