Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated support tenant worker woth onsite tenancy so you live onsite rent free, from one location with free parking in central Cheltenham. You will support our young adult with Autism or learning needs. You will have experience in providing high-quality care to young adults with Autism and learning needs and will work at Katecares to enhace the wellbeing of our young adults and respond effectively to any safeguarding concerns. You will need tomwork well with multi agency partners. Champion our young adult to live their best lives and access education or work, have hobbies and interests and make local friends.
Duties
- Be a great listener and role model
- Foster life skills using our life skills program
- Follow the individuals support plans
- Maintain a clean and safe home and maintain high health and safety standards.
- Strong understanding of Autism related needs including attachment, communication and social barriers and how to help individuals with ASC and learning needs.
- Engage young adults in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor and document a daily diary for your young adult
- Implement behaviour management techniques as needed to support with specific challenges.
- Collaborate with healthcare amd social care professionals in case management to ensure comprehensive support and care.
- Have a can do attitude and take pride in your work role
- Attend team meetings
- Learn about PERMA positive psychology and Undertake mandatory training
Requirements
- Previous experience in youth work, with neuro diversity needs, with behaviours that challenge, support work or care work for young adults
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care is advantageous.
- Level 2 care or support qualification
- First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence and business insurance cover
- Ability to follow care / support plans accurately while being attentive to individual client needs.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
