The Role…
As a Community Talent Scout, you’ll be the friendly face of Althaus in the East Midlands. You’ll be out in the community, meeting people where they are, from job centres and local community groups to networking events and social media spaces, finding future learners and connecting them with opportunities that could transform their careers.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Learner Engagement and our marketing team to design and deliver creative recruitment strategies for your patch. Whether you’re hosting an info day, running an engaging social campaign, or giving personalised guidance to a prospective learner, your work will directly shape someone’s future.
What you’ll be doing…
- Building strong relationships with job centres, community organisations, and faith groups to recruit learners onto Althaus courses.
- Hosting engaging information sessions and providing a personal, high quality service to referral partners.
- Working with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns, using social media to spread the word and inspire applications.
- Giving honest, consultative advice to ensure learners find the right course for their needs and eligibility.
- Collaborating with colleagues to meet recruitment goals and support Althaus’ wider mission.
- Maintaining accurate records in our CRM and staying up to date with funding rules and course offerings.
What you’ll bring…
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, learner recruitment or similar.
- Outstanding relationship building skills, so you’re confident speaking with people from all walks of life.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail for keeping admin tidy and accurate.
- A proactive, target focused approach, so you like seeing results from your work.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to inspire, present, and persuade.
- Familiarity with social media as a recruitment and engagement tool.
- A commitment to learning, ideally with an aspiration to gain a CIAG qualification within 6 months (if you don’t already have one).
- Full driving licence and access to your own car.

The Practical Bits…
- This is a hybrid role, community based with regular travel to Derby HQ
- Safeguarding: This role may involve working with children and vulnerable adults. All offers are subject to DBS and reference checks.
