In Evidence Communications we take clinical evidence from a variety of sources (publications, abstracts, registries) and present it in an easily accessible and understandable format for a variety of audiences (sales teams, healthcare professionals and patients). Deliverables include short summary reports, infographics, white papers, slide decks, and clinical evidence compendia. We roll out key assets to our internal and external audience in partnership with our marketing and communications partners. Seeking feedback and measuring the impact of our assets is key to our success, as we strive to deliver more impactful assets.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Evidence Communications, Global Clinical & Medical Affairs, the Lead – Evidence Communications will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the evidence communication strategy for focus brands within a single franchise. This role will work collaboratively with sales and marketing, clinical strategy, medical education and other communication functions across the globe. This ensures materials and services are aligned with our business strategy.

What will you be doing?

  • Driving the development and execution of the evidence communication strategy for focus brands to align with the team's purpose of 'making evidence accessible to amplify its value' (30%)

  • Collaborating with the commercial organisation, e.g., Sales and Marketing, Sales Training, Market Access, HEOR and other communication functions to ensure services/materials are aligned to company strategy and adopted widely across the organisation (30%).

  • Collaborating with GCMA, e.g., Global Clinical Strategy and Evidence Analysis, and Medical Education, to maximize value of evidence across the organisation (10%)

  • Responsible for reviewing and editing evidence communications content, in a highly regulated environment (5%)

  • Be the company subject matter, applying expertise in communications techniques/channels to support business objectives. Measure impact (20%)

What you need to be successful:

  • Degree or higher degree in a related subject (Scientific/ Medical subject, Communications-related, i.e. English/Journalism)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of developing scientific / medical communications or education services, or in a professional communications role (e.g. medical writer / Editor) and rolling out assets to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant commercial experience (Pharmaceutical and/or Med Device industry)

  • Experience in editing/reviewing work in accordance with regulatory/legal/compliance regulations

  • Strategic thinking and strong influencing skills

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to priorities and simultaneously manage multiple projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of the legal, regulatory and compliance environments associated with the pharmaceutical/medical device industry

  • Good understanding of scientific research processes and evidence-based medicine

  • Strong analytical skills
