Job Summary:
Kitchen Staff/Cook/Prepper, working out of a dark kitchen in Torquay, Devon
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for serving. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of the kitchen and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional meals.
We have 15-25 hours to offer, depending on skill and availability.
You will be asked to come in for several paid trial shifts, while we assess your ability and work ethic. All training is done on shift.
Wages & Commission:
Your wage will start at £12.21 per hour. Once fully trained you will get paid your wage + commission. Wages are paid weekly (every Sunday).
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats as per recipes.
- Assist in the cooking process by following instructions and ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Follow health and safety regulations in food preparation and handling.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques is highly desirable.
Previous commercial or domestic kitchen experience will be needed, or a fast ability to learn.
