The Argyle Arms Brighton are recruiting kitchen staff
No barbecue or smoking experience is required for this role, but a passion for food in general is essential.
Are you passionate about food and hardworking? That's all we ask. Our kitchen is based around low & slow barbecue with an influence from America and around the World. The preperation of the meat is not part of this role. Although you can learn about it with our team if you want to.
Located in the Preston Park area of Brighton, just a few minutes walk from the vibrant Preston Circus & London Road area, you will find our little back street pub tucked away on the corner of Argyle Road & Campbell Road.
We require one full time or two part time Kitchen Assistant(s) to fill up to 36 hours per week with an immediate start available.
The role is fairly straight forward. The main duties involve plating up, working on a griddle, hot holding bain maries, maintaining cleanliness and a tidy work area. Labelling up, keeping fridges clean and stocked. Deep cleans. Sometimes you may be expected to be on your own in the kitchen during quieter shifts.

Raising the profile of the pub. Pop Catering LTD took control of The Argyle Arms four years ago, the pub now attracts a quirky, friendly customer base. Both locals and visitors to the city now enjoy the pub year-round.
Previous kitchen experience is preferred for this role.
You will work alongside the owners building a strong relationship to assist in the growth of the business.
(experience in each of these roles is preferred but not essential as training will be given)
- Food safety level 2 or 3
- Experience using the following is preferred; griddle, bain marie, & fryers
- Plating up following specific guidelines
- Updating daily food safety sheets
- Clean down kitchen every shift, finish around 9:30-10pm Thursday - Saturday and around 6pm Sundays.
We are looking for a reliable member of staff with good work ethic, an eye for cleanliness and able to plate up with good presentation, portion control and consistency every time.
There is potential for increase in hours and pay rate dependant on a few factors.
We put great effort into ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of our staff at all times.
Our current kitchen opening hours are as follows:
Monday - Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday: 5pm - 9pm
Friday: 3pm-9pm
Saturday: 2pm-9pm
Sunday 1pm-6pm
Availability for part of these shifts or all of them would be amazing.
