Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Trainee Bookkeeper (Intern/Volunteer) to join our team. The role is ideal for recent graduates, school leavers, or students seeking practical experience, an internship, or a placement to enhance their accounting knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems
- Enter financial transactions into accounting software (e.g., Excel, Xero, Sage 50, VT)
- Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Prepare invoices and assist with payment processing
- Support payroll processing and expense reporting
- Help with the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Assist with general administrative and client service tasks
- Learn and comply with relevant financial regulations and standards
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (preferred)
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
