West Northamptonshire, England
Full time

About the Job

Fixed term until 2 April 2026 or upon the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner

Interview Date: 18 September 2025

The International Recruitment and Enquiries Assistant plays a key role in the recruitment of international students to the University of Northampton. The post holder will act as first point of contact for all international enquirers via electronic channels, phone and face-to-face. You will provide administrative support to a team of Global Engagement Officers with team administration, marketing, freight, and liaising with the University’s international representatives. You will support the International Marketing Manager and the Recruitment and Conversion Officer with online conversion activities, content production and marketing research on an ad hoc basis.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and pay the real living wage, which is currently £24,309 per annum. In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which presently supersedes the actual first spinal point of Grade 4 salary before living wage.

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with a demonstrable customer service focus and excellent attention to detail. Ideally you will have some understanding of issues affecting international students and their recruitment journey. You will have the ability to resolve a wide variety of issues and queries accurately and sensitively and the judgement to refer to a senior colleague, when required. Proficient in Microsoft Office, you should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the skills to develop productive working relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, or possessing relevant demonstrable experience in marketing to a high standard.

Desirable;

  • Educated to degree level.

Faculty/Department

The Directorate of Global Engagement is responsible for all areas of International and Partnership engagement at the University of Northampton.
