Main Purpose of Role
To provide high-quality administrative and casework support to the Principal Insolvency Practitioner and team. The role involves assisting with a wide range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, contributing to efficient case progression, compliance, and client service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Casework Support
- Assist with the opening, maintenance, and closing of insolvency case files, ensuring accurate data entry and document management.
- Draft standard and bespoke correspondence, client engagement letters, statutory notices, reports to creditors, and Companies House filings.
- Support in the preparation and collation of court documents for bankruptcy, winding-up, administration, and voluntary arrangements.
- Liaise with debtors, creditors, solicitors, agents, HMRC, and the Official Receiver in connection with ongoing cases.
Insolvency Case Administration
- Maintain up-to-date records of key statutory deadlines under the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016.
- Support the collation of information for reports, creditor claims, and client asset schedules.
- Monitor creditor correspondence and prepare meeting notices, outcome reports, and dividend schedules.
- Prepare costs schedules and assist with the drafting of remuneration reports for approval by creditors.
Regulatory & Compliance Duties
- Carry out procedural file reviews under supervision, ensuring compliance with SIPs (Statements of Insolvency Practice), AML requirements, and data protection obligations.
- Record matter start and completion dates and assist with internal compliance reporting.
Administrative & Practice Support
- Manage diary reminders for critical insolvency deadlines (e.g. notice periods, creditor meetings, report due dates).
- Respond to routine client and stakeholder queries promptly, escalating substantive issues as needed.
- Provide cover and administrative support to senior members during absences.
- Maintain high professional standards in client-facing communications and uphold the firm’s reputation in insolvency matters.
Person Specification
- Law graduate or graduate of a legal or finance discipline;
- Previous experience in a legal or insolvency practice is desirable, particularly in a regulatory or litigation environment.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage procedural deadlines and case documentation accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and confident manner.
- Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and ability to manage sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
- IT literate, with confidence using case management software, Microsoft Office, and online government portals (e.g. Companies House, HMCTS).
Training & Development Opportunities

- Exposure to a variety of personal and corporate insolvency cases, including CVLs, MVLs, administrations, and bankruptcies.
