Green Spark Utility Services Ltd specialises in water, sewerage, drainage infrastructure, and tank cleaning services across both the water industry and private sector. Leveraging a comprehensive fleet of advanced machinery and equipment, along with extensive industry expertise, we deliver cost-effective solutions for a wide range of challenges—from blocked drains to the cleaning of large-diameter pipelines and industrial tanks, including those in the petrochemical and chemical sectors. Our operations require a multi-skilled workforce capable of utilising a variety of tankers, Jetvac units and specialised tools and techniques for tank cleaning and hazardous waste removal.
You’ll be operating specialised vehicles that are used for the cleaning and maintenance of industrial tanks, sewers, drains and other large scale storage tanks. Work Projects, can include pipe and tank cleansing programmes, general industrial cleaning, septic tank emptying, blockage clearance, pipe cleansing programmes, and flood defence and emergency reactive works.
The work is almost all outdoors, and you will need to be physically able and adept in manual handling, heavy lifting, safely use harnesses, work at heights and in confined spaces (at times with BA).
The role involves travel around the UK. You’ll be part of a standby rota for out of hours calls to ensure the business can fully meet its service Level agreements with its clients.
Responsibilities
- Holder of a Class 2 licence, CPC and experience operating large vehicles
- Be comfortable driving in various weather conditions and on various road and other surfaces
- Take part in remediation and general tank works
- Carry out tank cleaning and disposal of associated waste products
- Attend to spill response and other clean up duties
- Shovelling, sweeping, belt clearing, vacuuming using suction machines
- Be highly safety conscious to follow strict safety protocols
- Able to confidently use an electronic tablet and various job management apps
- Good communication including listening to instructions, asking questions, and providing feedback.
- Complete all required checks for vehicles daily / timely defect reporting / WTD / Driver’s hours / Tachos where required and maintain your vehicle.
Qualifications
- High risk confined space with Breathing Apparatus
- Class 1 driving license and relevant CPC
- ADR licence (carrying hazardous goods)
- Water Jetting Certificate
- Working at heights qualifications
