Why You'll Love This Role:
Lead the Charge on Hydrogen Infrastructure Delivery
Take ownership of Capital Delivery’s major infrastructure programme. You’ll be at the heart of project delivery—collaborating with internal and external consultants to ensure every milestone is met with precision and purpose.
-
Drive Strategic Planning and Performance Excellence
You’ll support the development of detailed project schedules and perform deep-dive analyses to track progress, manage risks, and run “what-if” scenarios. Your insights will shape decision-making and ensure projects stay on track, on budget, and on time.
-
Champion PMO Best Practice Across the Portfolio
Support the wider Hydrogen Portfolio by embedding best-in-class PMO processes—from governance and reporting to resource and scope management. You’ll be a go-to subject matter expert for project controls, document standards, and continuous improvement, ensuring every project aligns with our lifecycle and stage gate methodology.
-
Be the Voice of Clarity and Control
Provide a “single source of truth” for project information and document control, enabling transparency and trust across teams. You’ll produce governance reports, lead health checks, and coordinate monthly updates for internal and external stakeholders—always operating with the mantra of “no surprises.”
-
Inspire Collaboration and Continuous Growth
Build strong relationships across the business, delegate effectively, and support the project team with expert guidance. You’ll lead in resource forecasting and change control, and support in evaluation of early warnings and compensation events. All while staying ahead of emerging technologies and evolving best practices.
What You'll Bring:
Proven Project Management Expertise
You’ll bring solid experience in project management, ideally within a PMO environment. Familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts is highly desirable, and a qualification such as APM PMQ or equivalent would be a strong advantage.
-
Educational Foundation
You should be educated to at least HNC/HND level or have equivalent practical experience. A degree in Engineering or Project Management is desirable and will support your ability to navigate complex technical and strategic challenges.
-
Advanced Planning and Analytical Skills
You’ll be confident in building and managing detailed schedules. Your attention to detail and problem-solving mindset will help you analyse data, evaluate risks, and produce high-quality reports and governance packs for senior stakeholders.
-
Exceptional Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
You’ll need excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and collaborate effectively across teams. Experience in stakeholder management and producing clear, impactful business information is essential.
-
Organised, Proactive, and Detail-Oriented
This role demands a highly organised individual with a proactive approach to delivery. You’ll be expected to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy under pressure, and consistently demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
